MiVolunteer helps your students find real, vetted volunteer opportunities across the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area, earn their Ontario 40-hour community-involvement hours, and receive an official Certificate of Hours.
We actively work with schools so your students can give back, stay safe, and earn the hours they need.
Yes. Time students volunteer through MiVolunteer can count toward the 40 hours of community involvement required for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Your school tracks and approves the hours toward each student's diploma.
No. There is no cost to schools or students. MiVolunteer is a volunteer agency, and finding opportunities and matching students to them is free.
It depends on the opportunity and the organization hosting it. Many roles are open to high-school students, and students under 18 need parent or guardian consent. Each opportunity lists its own requirements.
After each shift, MiVolunteer emails the student an official Certificate of Hours recording the time they gave. Students submit that certificate to your school as proof toward their hours.
Contact our team and we will share vetted opportunities across the GTHA suited to your students.
