MiVolunteer is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and community-minded volunteers to support the Upper Canada Mall Holiday Market Series, a festive indoor market showcasing local makers, handmade gifts, and independent creative brands from Newmarket and York Region.

Volunteers will help create a welcoming, organized, and enjoyable experience for vendors, shoppers, and visitors. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in community events, local businesses, holiday markets, and event operations. Volunteer Responsibilities * Assist with event setup, preparation, and general organization. * Help direct vendors to their designated spaces and provide basic event information. * Welcome visitors and help them navigate the market area. * Answer general questions and direct attendees to the appropriate locations or event personnel. * Support vendors and event organizers with day-to-day operational needs. * Help maintain clean, organized, and accessible common areas. * Assist with crowd flow and ensure the market environment remains welcoming and orderly. * Support breakdown, cleanup, and closing procedures as assigned. * Communicate with the event coordination team regarding questions, concerns, or issues that arise during the shift. Ideal Volunteer We are looking for volunteers who are: * Friendly, approachable, and comfortable interacting with the public. * Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. * Organized, attentive to detail, and able to follow instructions. * Comfortable working in a busy indoor event environment. * Proactive and willing to assist wherever needed. Previous event or customer service experience is an asset but is not required. Volunteers should be prepared to spend time standing and walking throughout their shifts. Location and Work Environment The opportunity takes place indoors at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket, Ontario. Volunteers will work alongside fellow volunteers, vendors, and event personnel in a festive holiday shopping environment. Commitment and Expectations Volunteers are expected to arrive on time for their assigned shifts, remain engaged throughout their scheduled hours, follow instructions from event coordinators, and communicate promptly if they encounter any issues. A positive attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to support the team are essential.
